Uganda Premier League (Friday Results):
Onduparaka 0-0 Mbarara City
Tooro United 1-0 Ndejje University
KCCA 6-3 Police
Top Bet sponsored Mbarara City endured the final moments of their goal-less stalemate with Onduparaka with nine players at the Green Light Stadium in Arua on Friday.
Christened as the ‘Ankole Lions’, Mbarara City had two of their players sent off for unsporting conduct by the match referee Mashood Ssali, a FIFA Referee.
Former Onduparaka forward Karim Ndugwa as well as goalkeeper Ali Kimera were sent to the sin bin for unsporting manners.
Ndugwa was penalized for a wild lunge onto winger Viane Sekajugo after 60 minutes.
Goalie Kimera’s sending off was a second bookable offence, the first a time wasting penalty on 44 minutes and the second booking for a foul onto Gadaffi Gadinho at the death of the game.
The Catarpillars had a lion’s share of chances to break the deadlock but the goal post denied Sekajugo and second half substitute Ezra Bida.
Defender Hassan Muhamood had a close headed effort miss target by inches off Gadinho’s inviting delivery off a free kick in the 73rd minute.
The game marked the return of former Onduparaka head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi against his a side he had served with diligence before they parted ways.
This Onduparaka earned their third draw of the season for a point accumulated as they amass 24 points in third place from 14 matches.
Mbarara City has played 13 matches and have 23 points.
