Vipers SC put up a spectacular show but failed to pick a win over visiting CS Sfaxien of Tunisia at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
The Venoms missed a couple of chances but also forced good saves from the opponents’ goalie on the afternoon but how did each Venom rate on the day.
Fabien Mutombora 5.0: Rarely tested throughout the game but made one telling save in the first half and also another after the break.
Ibrahim Kiyemba 6.0: Approached the game with the attitude of someone playing to prove a point. Defended well and also made some good runs going forward.
Yayo Lutimba 5.0: Whipped in a couple of decent crosses and despite being caught of position on a few occasion, this was an improved performance.
Livingstone Mulondo 6.5: Formidable throughout and made some telling tackles as CS Sfaxien threatened to break the deadlock.
Bashir Asiku 6.0: Confident and calm in possession until he was subbed after a knock.
Taddeo Lwanga 7.5: Indomitable through the game, intercepted opposition attacks and initiated a couple of attacks from deep. Had a headed attempt cleared off the line. His return was really timely.
Moses Waiswa 5.5: Started slowly and at times put brakes on the team’s attack but improved as the game wore on. A few decent passes and also forced a good save from CS Sfaxien goalie.
Geoffrey Wasswa 6.0: Had no problem with the fast tempo and passed adventurously in midfield. Reinstated at the heart of defence when Asiku got a knock.
Noah Wafula 4.0: Another disappointing show for the Kenyan international as he missed two good chances in the first half but put in a shift in terms of effort.
Daniel Sserunkuma 5.5: Tidy but lacked service on an underwhelming afternoon for the Vipers attackers. Often bullied by the big CS Sfaxien defenders.
Tito Okello 6.0: Looked lively and twice denied by good goalkeeping by the CS Sfaxien custodian. Replaced by Davis Kasirye late on as he looked tired.
Substitutes
Brian Nkuubi 5.0: A few decent touches after coming on but not a lot of impact.
Abraham Ndugwa 4.0: Replaced the ineffective Wafula but didn’t add much.
