  • Mbarara City Vs KCCA – Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara (4:30 PM)
  •  BUL Vs Maroons – FUFA Technical Center, Njeru (4:00 PM)

When third placed Mbarara City hosts the current table leaders, KCCA F.C, it will be one eagerly awaited game for the players, technical benches and fans alike.

This is the one of the eight games that open up the  second phase of the Uganda Premier League.

The corresponding game in the first round played at Lugogo ended goal-less.

Team news:

Fresh from holding Vipers to a one all draw away at St Mary’s Kitende, Mbarara City is a team on mission and has built the crucial momentum at the right time.

With 28 points, the Ankole Lions trail the leaders by 8 points as the second round kicks off on a high gear.

Mbarara City has recruited a couple of young boys in the secondary transfer window with Raymond Onyai and Otim Ocitti among the new signings at the club.

Former captain Asuman Alishe has departed for Sports Club Villa.

KCCA on the other hand has not signed any players in the window with huge prospects of releasing Isaac Kirabira.

Key players:

KCCA will dwell upon Allan Okello, Patrick Henry Kaddu, Mike Mutyaba, Muzamiru Mutyaba and the leadership of captain Timothy Denis Awany for the much craven inspiration.

Mbarara City has Ivan Eyam, Paul Mucurezi, Makuweth Wol and Jude Ssemugabi for the quest of goals as new captain Hilary Mukundane commands the backline

For starters, Mucurezi will be facing his former pay masters (KCCA) for the second time.

Maximum points for KCCA will help the 12 time league winners further consolidate their status at the summit of the league table standings.

Victory for Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s Mbarara City will help them displace Vipers from second place.

Vipers has 31 points, off 15 matches played.
