Entebbe FC kicked off the second round of the 2018-19 FUFA Big League with a draw against UPDF at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Thursday.

After a goal-less opening 45 minutes, the game came to life when winger Fred Umony finished off Robert Ssaka’s cross for the opening goal on 55 minutes.

Umony, a former player at Masaka based Bwala, Nkumba University and Masavu had a calm finish before wheeling off into celebrations.

With the game destined for full time and a win for Steven Bogere’s UPDF, Entebbe F.C’s new signing Denis Kawesa had other ideas altogether.

Kawesa combined with second half substitute Kenneth Tumusime for the equalizer five minutes to full time.

This was the first game for Entebbe’s new coach James Odoch who replaced Allan Kabonge who tendered in his resignation.

It is not a bad start. Each side had their chances. By the time we scored, we had nearly lost the game. I salute the fighting spirit from the players although there were suspect calls from the referee

We had chances to kill off the game but did not utilize them well. Anyway, that is the nature of the game. We shall remain focused and plan for the future games.
