It took good fortunes and solid defending for Kitara who were being coached by Richard Makumbi for the very first time to jealously protect the lead and eventually win.

This was Kitara’s 5th victory in 11 matches, taking them to 18 points, five short of Proline.

Meanwhile, Kansai Plascon kept within the top four with a 2-0 away win over Kira United.

Dove and Kabale Sharp played to a two-all draw at the Katushabe play ground in Masindi.

In the Elgon Group, there was only one win in the five opening match day 11 fixtures.

Wakiso Giants pushed visiting Amuka Bright Stars to the wall with a 3-0 win at the Kyabazinga playground in Bugembe.

There were stalemates between Entebbe and UPDF (one-all) at Wankulukuku Stadium. It was a tale of two second half goals. Former Masavu winger Fred Umony poked home the opener before new signing Denis Kawesa found the equalizer five minutes to full time.
