Police Football Club chairman Asan Kasingye is optimistic that the five January signings will inspire the side to greater heights.

The 2005 Uganda Premier League winners officially unveiled five new players at the Police Head quarters in Naguru, Kampala on Monday moments before the club out-muscled Express 2-0 at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The five players who were captured during the secondary transfer window include Ivan Bukenya (Proline Football Club), goalkeeper Alfred Ginyera (Farmers FC), winger Edward Kiroywa (Farmers FC), defender Edgar Bwogi (Sharp) and striker Kenedy Kasozi (Express).

Kasingye also tasked the new recruits to observe discipline both on and off the pitch as they help the team improve performance.

Bukenya will don shirt 12 and penned a six month contract.

Goalkeeper Ginyera will dress short 30, he also penned a two-year deal.

Kiryowa from Farmers signed a one-year contract and shall don shirt 10.

Bwogi is a former defender at Kitara and Express. Of late, he has been playing at Miracle was given shirt 21, also on a one year contract.

Striker Kasozi was captured on loan from Vipers and will don the shirt 9.

Following a morale boosting 2-0 victory on the road at Express, Police is now 7th on the 16-team log with 24 points off 17 matches.

Police Football Club has won the Uganda Premier League title once in 2005.

In 2006, Police FC won the CECAFA Club championship.

They have also represented Uganda on the continent in the CAF Champions League (2006) as well as the CAF Winners Cup (2006).
