Maroons Vs Mbarara City

Luzira Prisons Stadium (4:30 PM)

Third placed Mbarara City Football Club visits the intimidating Prisons Stadium in Luzira on Tuesday against Maroons during match day 17 of the Uganda Premier League.

Mbarara City is currently sitted third on the 16 team log with 19 points off 16 matches.

Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s coached side will target maximum points or avoid defeat if they are to keep pace with the top top sides – KCCA and Vipers.

Maroons, under their newly appointed coach Robert Ssekyeyama play their first game of the second round at home.

The first game with Ssekyeyama in charge was a 1-0 loss away to BUL at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

The former KCCA player replaced George ‘Best’ Nsimbe who threw in the towel.

It will therefore be a battle for maximum points for the Prisons’ funded team in the midst of home fans.

Paul Mucureezi, Ivan Eyam and Ibrahim Orit are the current star players on the Mbarara City side who are expected to hand a debut to January signing, midfielder Ivan Mbowa.

Maroons is currently 12th with 15 points from 16 matches.
