Vipers and SC Villa renew acquaintances on Saturday when they face off in the league at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

The reigning champions head into the game as clear favourites based not only on form but history and quality of players.

Vipers are second on the 16-team log with 37 points while SC Villa are fourth from bottom with just 15 points.

The Venoms have lost just twice in 19 past meetings with SC Villa and have won a record 12 league ties and lost just five.

Facing former bosses

The two squads know each well – Taddeo Lwanga the team captain of the Venoms is a former SC Villa player while in their ranks, the Blues have Ashraf Mandela, Pius Wangi, David Owori and Bashir Mutanda among others.

Key Players

Daniel Mzee Sserunkuma (Vipers) and Bashir Mutanda (SC Villa) will be crucial in search for goals.

Last season, Vipers won both encounters and also the home tie in the Uganda Cup.

Already this season, they won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Namboole despite SC Villa taking the lead.
