Record Rwanda Premier League champions Armée Patriotique Rwandaise (APR) Football Club named Serbian national Zlatko Krmpotić, 61, as the new club coach for a year long tenure.
Zlatko was officially unveiled at the club’s Kimihurura offices on Friday.
He signed a one-year contract until the end of the 2019/20 season with the 13 Rwanda Premier League champions who have also won 7 knockout cup titles and three CECAFA Kagame Club championships.
Zlatko will be assisted by Jimmy Mulisa (Assistant coach), Radanavic Miodrag (Fitness coach), Ibrahim Mugisha (goalkeeping coach), and Didier Bizimana (Physio).
He replaces a fellow Serbian national, Ljubomir “Ljupko” Petrović , 70, who resigned late last year following concerns of his life.

He joins the Rwanda soccer giants after previous stints at two DR Congo clubs TP Mazembe (2015) and Don Bosco (2017).
He was also in Zambia with Zesco United (2017) as well as Botswana outfit, Jwaneng (2018).
Lately, Zlatko was at New Royal Eagles in South Africa where he had joined in 2018 on a two-year agreement.
Zlatko played for Red Star Belgrade (1977-1986) and Genclerbirligi (1986-1988).
We want to build a side that can continue challenging for silverware in Rwanda, the region and Africa. There is no doubt that football is popular and lucrative in Rwanda. But what is lacking is professionalism in terms of playing. I believe that we will have a better team in the coming season
Zlatko Krmpotic, Head coach APR as quoted by Rwanda Times
Having lost 3-2 to Sun Rise in their previous league encounter, APR takes on Amagaju on 18th February 2019 in the immediate upcoming game.
This will be Krmpotić’s first taste of Rwandan football.
