Two FUFA Big League sides Kitara and Kyetume will lock horns in a Stanbic Uganda Cup contest on Sunday at the Kigaya play ground in Hoima.

Kitara is a club in the Rwenzori group whilst Kyetume plays in the Elgon group.

A lot is at stake when these two clubs face off especially given the fact that each of the sides have experienced players and head coaches.

Kitara is coached by Richard Makumbi and former Uganda Cranes striker Alex Isabirye is in charge of Kyetume.

Vicent Kayizzi Walugembe, Ibrahim Kazindula, Denis Lubowa, Godfrey Buni, Elukana Nkugwa, Tarzan Kambugu and the towering forward Faisam Malangu are some of the players that will be used by Kyetume.

Kyetume eliminated St Stephens 6-1 in the Uganda Cup round of 32

George Ssenkaaba, Musa Docca, Alex Ndihabwe, Beckam Musoki among others are the key names at Kitara.

It is a knock out game where the winner will progress to the quarter final stage to join the ranks of Vipers, BUL, Wakiso Giants and Nebbi Central.

In the other round of 16 contest, FUFA Big League outfit, Proline will entertain Proline top tier side Onduparaka at Lugogo.

KCCA is the reigning cup holder but unfortunately will not manage to defend the championship having lost to Tooro United.

Tooro United has since bowed out to Wakiso Giants.

The winner of the Uganda Cup represents the country at the CAF Confederation cup.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
