Kenyan giants Gor Mahia will have a mountain to climb if they are to reach the semi-finals of the Caf Confederation Cup after they lost 2-0 at home to RS Berkene of Morocco.

Francis Kahata scored an own goal in the 24th minute before Bakr El Hilal sealed the win in the second half.

Erisa Ssekisambu came on as a substitute for the experienced Denis Oliech in the 69th minute but could do nothing to change the scoreline.

In Tunis, Uganda international Jamal Salim conceded three times as Al Hilal of Sudan lost 3-1 to Tunisia’s Etoile Du Sahel.

The Sudan side will need to win at least 2-0 in the return leg to advance to the last four.

Elsewhere, Zambia’s Nkana beat Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien 2-1 in Kitwe while the other all Maghreb quarterfinals ended in a goalless draw between Zamalek and Hassania Agadir of Egypt and Morocco respectively.
