The third round of the Singleton Golf swings off at the Lake side par 71 Entebbe Golf Course on Saturday morning for the day long championship.

The professionals, like the main amateur groups and subsidiary golfers will be in the mix.

Sixteen pro golfers will be battling for the 8 available slots at the next level.

Entebbe based teenager Herman ‘Deco’ Mutebi, who will be facing another Entebbe bred golfer Vincent ‘Araali’ Byamukama will square off in one of the contests.

Mutebi admits the duel will be epic and close to predict, but, he is ready for the showdown.

I have been on the range a couple of times and have perfected my chipping as well during practice over the past weeks. I am ready for the championship on Saturday.

Mutebi scored three over-par 74 during the qualification round played in March 2019.

In some of the other eight lined up duels for the professionals, Deo Akope will face Robert Happy.

Adolf Muhumuza will battle against Abraham Ainamani.

Another young pro, David Kamulindwa faces Silver Opio as Stephen Kabuye will engage Abbey Bagalana.

Jinja Golf Club professional Emmanuel Opio Onito will square off with Uganda Golf Club’s Herman Mutawe.

Meanwhile, Lake Victoria Serena home pro Fred Wanzala takes on the towering Brian Toolit.

For starters, Toolit was the best performer with one-over par 72 when the professionals played in the qualifiers at the last stage.

There are 8 pairs of amateur golfers still standing at this stage whose winners will earn return air tickets to the Dubai Desert Classics.

Defending champions; Peace Kabasweka and Sheila Kensime face a baptise of fire against the pairing of Samuel Kato and Charles Odere.

Home based Kato is arguably one of the best amateur golfers in the gross catergory in the country at the moment.

The amateur golfers will also eye the hole in prize, a brand new Pajero sport (fully insured by Afrisafe) for the selected two par three holes.

Fast rising music icon King Saha will entertain the guests and golfers at the 19th hole experience where the theme night has been confirmed as ‘African wear’.
