Ugandan Caf Champions League semi-finalists Denis Onyango and Joseph Ochaya of Sundowns and TP Mazembe will have to overturn first leg deficits if they are to reach the finals.

Mamelodi Sundowns lost 2-1 away to 2017 winners Wydad Casablanca in a game Cranes skipper Onyango made over eight saves to keep the Brazilians in the tie.

Salaheddine Saidi and Badi Aouk scored for the Morocco side while Anele Ngcongca scored a vital away goal for Sundowns.

On Saturday, reigning champions Esperance of Tunisia gave themselves a chance to defend the title with a 1-0 win over five time champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo.

Youcef Belaili scored the all-important goal for the home side in a game Kabaso Chongo was sent off for the visiting side with a quarter an hour to go.

Ochaya was an unused substitute in that game with Zola preffered at left back.

The return legs will be played next weekend with aggregate winners reaching finals.
