Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club overcame Police 2-0 at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.

Mid-season signing Cromwel Rwothomio scored twice for the tax collectors who displaced Tooro United in third place.

The former Paidha Black Angels’ captain scored in each half to inspire Sam Ssimbwa’s side to their 12th win in 29 matches.

Rwothomio opened the scoring in the 37th minutes with a finish past the Police goalkeeper.

He returned with the second goal on the hour mark, another sublime effort after a decent delivery by Peter Lwasa, a substitute who had replaced winger Vitalis Tabu at the start of the second half.

URA further made two more changes. Striker Mathew ‘Tayo’ Odongo replaced Joachim Ojera after 58 minutes and Steven Munguchi was introduced for Saidi Kyeyune on the 90th minute mark.

URA climbed a slot to third with 50 points, two ahead of Tooro United whom they face in the last game of the season this Saturday at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium.

Police suffered their 12th defeat of the season, dropping one place to 11th as they remain with 37 points.

Police makes the trip to Mbarara to face a wounded Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium in their final game of the season.

The Uganda Premier League will officially climax on Saturday, 4th May 2019.
