The second edition of the Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run (KNR) is back on the menu as officially launched at Route 256 Restaurant, Lugogo on Thursday, 2nd May 2019.

This year’s run will take place on 2nd June 2019 and has been modified from season one in many dimensions.

First, the route has been extended from the 2KM and made 3KM.

The registration fee lowered from 30,000 to 20,000 per person with the best Neon party around town.

This run will be offering much more too, including more fun activities and star artiste performances lined up for the 2019 edition.

Brand 7D Chief Executive Officer Ronald Kivumbi flanked by the sponsor’s representative Cathy Twesigye and the Police PRO in Kampala Metropolitan Luke Owoyesigire graced the launch.

The flag-off is planned for 7pm, and the start and end points have been retained at Torino Bar and Restaurant as was the case in 2018.

Registration for the fun run is at Shs20,000 and tickets are on sale at Torino Bar, Definition and all Funs Videos outlets.

Also returning this year are the glow accessories which captured the imagination at the inaugural event, with a well-lit route completing the Lite the Way theme of main sponsors Tusker Lite.

The Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run is going to be bigger and better because we have a longer route, the glows are fancier, the artists and DJS are on top of their game and security reinforcements are definitely guaranteed for all participants

Kampala Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Luke Owesigyire, reassured the event organizers and those planning to participate in the run of the Police’s resolve to protect their lives and property on the D-Day.

He confirmed an elaborate security plan had been put in place with more than 100 police officers to be deployed along the route to ensure runners are safe and secure.

As Uganda Police, our mandate is to serve and protect. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that everyone taking part in the Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run is safe. We have a solid traffic management plan in place and we are going to deploy heavily to guarantee security throughout. We are also warning unlawful individuals or groups with intent to cause a breach of security during the run that the consequences will be severe. Kampala Metropolitan.

After the run is done, the flag-off point; Torino Bar will be converted into a party venue as it will host the run’s after-party as runners turn into revellers.

Some of the prizes lined up for different categories include those for the shortest time to reach the finish line, first runner-up, second runner-up, the most creative runner, most stylish runner, most “lit” runner and the best squad.

And to turn up the temperature, runners will be ushered into a night of top class entertainment with performances from artistes Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi, Hit Nature, Pallaso, Grenade and surprise disc spinners in Kampala.
