- Power 73-51 Ndejje
Power wrapped up the first round of the 2019 National Basketball League with a 73-51 win over Ndejje University Angels on Wednesday night at YMCA.
The five-time champions dominated right from tip-off to the final buzzer, out-running the usually athletic Ndejje.
Player of the game Syrus Kiviiri scored 9 of the 25 first quarter points as Power ran out to a 13 points lead in the opening ten minutes.
While Ndejje played better defense in the second quarter limiting their opponents to 12 points, they had dug themselves a hole so deep to get out and their 10 points in the period did not help as they fell behind by 15 going into the second half.
The lead grew to over 20 points in the third quarter and all was nothing but done as Power recorded their fifth straight win as the curtains came down on the first round.
Kiviiri scored game high 17 points, Joseph Ikong and Geoffrey Soro came in handy with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Samuel Ajak and Gauthier Badhera scored 14 and 12 points respectively for Ndejje.
Power returns to action on Friday, June 7 to take on league leaders UCU Canons at YMCA while Ndejje will battle Warriors on Sunday at the same ground.
