Wakiso Giants FC secured their second win from 12 league games this season after overcoming BUL FC at Kyabazinga Stadium in Jinja on Saturday.

Viane Ssekago’s late strike was the difference in a closely contested encounter.

The Purple Sharks have struggled to find the winning touch this season and could only account for a win in 11 games prior to the Jinja trip. This victory had come against Mbarara City FC on 12th February.

The team has registered a league record 9 draws in their opening 12 games but there was a sigh of relief on Saturday as they claimed maximum points against BUL FC.

The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when Alex Komakech’s cross picked up Ssekago who did no mistake to slot home.

Victory takes Wakiso Giants FC to 9th place on 15 points while BUL FC dropped to 11th position, one point behind the Purple Sharks.

Douglas Bamweyana and his charges will hope to build on today’s win as they travel to Kavumba to take on Kitara FC next week.

BUL FC on the other hand will be away to Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
