Golfers will be braced for the 2021 Rwenzori Open at the 9 hole Tooro Golf Course in Fort Portal

2021 Rwenzori Golf Open:

  • Professionals: Thursday, 18th – Friday, 19th March 2021
  • Main event: Saturday, 20th March 2021

*At Tooro Golf Club, Fort Portal

All is set for the 2021 Rwenzori Golf Open at the Tooro Golf course in Fort Portal.

The day long championship will take center stage on Saturday, 20th March 2021.

For the first time in a very long time, the professional golfers will be involved in this championship to partake a total kitty of Shs 8,000,000.

These will be involved alongside the amateur and junior golfers.

The professionals swing off on Thursday, 18th March 2018 for their 36 holes action that will wind up on the subsequent day.

“I am very prepared for this event. This tournament means a lot to Toro golf club and golf as a game in the country such big events keep the club legacy alive and it will inspire and motivate the juniors in to play and be like us some day in future.” Home bred pro Ronald Rugumayo stated.

Other confirmed professionals include Herman Deco Mutebi, Deo Akope, Vincent Byamukama, Becca Mwanja, Fred Wanzala, Brian Toolit, among others.

The main event and the official prize giving ceremony will take place on Saturday, 20th March 2021.

AFRIYEA Golf Academy youngsters will be also be competing   for the junior category.

Damian Asiimwe will be among the most watched junior play as he has been training day in day out for the big major event.

A big field of at least 120 golfers will grace the championship in the different categories (gross, juniors and professionals).
