Sam Agutu has re-joined KIU Titans on a two-year deal, the club has announced.

Agutu returns to Titans from Power Basketball Club where he’s been from the last couple of years but barely made an impact due to injury.

The forward who was an elite defender in the league says the second chance at Titans is like a fresh start.

“I feel like this is home for me because I have played here for almost seven years from high school to the time I left. I didn’t play much for the last two years so this is kind of a new start for me,” said Agutu as quoted in a press release.

The 6’4” small forward who was part of the Titans team that reached the club’s first-ever National Basketball League playoff finals in 2017 where they fell to City Oilers 4-1 says the goal is to win it all.

“I bring the same energy and more. Whatever the team will ask of me is what I will do. 2017 was more of unfinished business for us, our goal was to reach the finals and now it’s to win it all,” he says.

At the Kansanga-based side, Agutu re-unites with Denis Balungu and Oscar Muge who have also returned to the club. Along with Michael Bwanga, the four are the players that were part of the club’s best run in the league.

The 2021 National Basketball League is set to tip-off on Friday, April 2.
