Stanley Mugerwa has joined KIU Titans on a two-year deal, the club has announced.
The 6’6″ power forward joins the Kansanga-based side from two-time National Basketball League champions Warriors.
Mugerwa brings some international experience and steel to Titans frontcourt having featured for the national team at the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and the first leg of the AfroBasket 2021 Qualifiers.
Mugerwa becomes the club’s fourth signing after Denis Balungu, Oscar Muge, and Samuel Agutu who have both returned to the 2017 league finalists. The four, with help from youngster Peter Obleng, Francis Kasinde, Henry Okoth as well as Joseph Dramaza, could form a competitive frontcourt.
Titans are looking forward to having another go at dethroning City Oilers who have dominated the Ugandan game since their arrival in the league in 2013.
The club is expected to continue with Brian Wathum who steered the side to their first-ever finals appearance as the head coach after there were reports of his departure.
