Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo, Soltilo Bright Stars forward has set the seasonal personal target at 15 goals.

Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club striker Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo is determined to carry on the work ethic as a lee-way of maintaining the current rich vein of form.

Ssekamatte scored a brace as Soltilo Bright Stars overcame newly promoted Kitara 3-1 at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium, Wakiso on match day 16.

Joseph Marvin got the other goal for the visitors as Monday Denis’ penalty was a mere consolation.

Ssekamatte, a well built center forward has hinted on maintaining the work ethic to better his fitness as he targets a top 8 position for Soltilo Bright Stars.

Personally I want to play as many games as possible , getting my fitness levels better , push my team Soltilo Bright stars to the top 8 positions in league.

With 7 goals scored thus far in the league at half way stage, the stocky left footed gangly forward has also set his personal target for the season, completing with at least 15 goals in the league.

“Most importantly, I want to score as many goals as possible (15 league goals)” the former KCCA player adds.

He aspired for more improved performances that he will front as a stepping stone to return to the diaspora leagues.

With more game time improved performance the sky is the limit I believe by the end of the season I will be going back to play professionally (in the diaspora leagues).

He believes that with teamwork, Soltilo Bright Stars will attain the intended targets for the season especially given the bold fact that the chemistry between the Joseph trio of Akandwanaho, Marvin and Janjali as well as Methidious Junju has reaped instant dividends.

This season alone, he has already won two different man of the match accolades against Police and Kitara.

Ssekamatte has also played in the Zambia Premier League with Red Arrows Football Club.

Meanwhile, Soltilo Bright Stars will play Paidha Black Angels in a two legged round of 32 contest in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Paidha Black Angels host the first leg at the Bar Okoro stadium in Zombo district on Wednesday, 7th April 2021.

The return leg will be played on Sunday, 11th April 2021 at Kavumba Recreational Stadium, Wakiso.
