- Soltilo Bright Stars 3-2 Wakiso Giants
Jamil Kasinde scored in the last minute of additional time to hand Soltilo Bright Stars a 3-2 win over visiting Wakiso Giants at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
Samuel Ssekamatte and Joseph Janjali had scored for the hosts earlier while Ivan Bogere and Joshua Lubwama netted Wakiso Giants turned consolations.
In a game that three penalties, two scored and one missed, Bogere put the Sharks in the lead after just two minutes.
Goalkeeper Benson Wegima failed to deal with a ball from Tom Masiko free kick and the striker, on loan from Proline capitalised.
Parity was restored in the 14th minute with Ssekamatte scoring from a free on the edge of the area before Janjali put the hosts in the lead in the 34th minute.
Wakiso Giants had an opportunity to draw level two minutes after the break but Tom Masiko missed from the spot and referee waved play on after Ibrahim Kasule went down under a challenge on the follow up.
The Purple Sharks continued to pile pressure and got the reward in the 74th minute through substitute Joshua Lubwama who had come on for Masiko.
The lanky midfielder converted from the penalty spot after handball in the area.
Eight minutes were added at the end of ninety with Wakiso Giants punished with a late penalty scored by Kasinde with literally the last kick of the game.
There was drama as the assistant raised his flag for a foul in the area but didn’t signal penalty until after consultation with the referee Shamirah Nabadda.
Wakiso Giants have now gone five successive games without a win since beating Bul in February and stay 13th, just four points above relegation zone while Bright Stars move to 9th with 23 points.
