Busoga United edged visiting Police 2-1 on match day 18 of the 2020-21 Uganda Premier League at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Industrious forward Paul Ssekulima and defender Franco Onen got the goals for Busoga United, an entity coached by Abbey Kikomeko Bogere.
Substitute Herman Wasswa Nteza had earlier brought the game level with a 59th leveler that was later turned into a consolation with Onen’s late strike.

Ssekulima scored the opening goal after 21 minutes off Douglas Muganga’s assist as Busoga United bossed the opening half 1-0.
Wasswa connected Henry Katongole’s delivery for the equalizer on the stroke of the hour mark.

With the game destined for a 1-all stalemate, Busoga United staged a gallant display.
Onen scored the dramatic winner in the second minute of added time to give maximum points to the home side.
Referee Paul Turyamureeba cautioned Police goalkeeper Derrick Ochan, the only booking of the game in the 44th minute.

Busoga United’s victory was a timely reaction from the 3-0 loss on the road away to the reigning league champions Vipers at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
This was the 5th victory for Busoga United in 18 matches, taking them to 20 points as they climbed to 12th on the log.
Police suffered their 5th defeat of the season, remaining on 31 points in the fourth place.
