- Nile Special Stout Rugby Premier League – Matchday Six
- Result: Heathens 41-00 Warriors
Heathens Rugby Club recovered from defeat in the Lions Cup with a dominant 41-00 victory against Warriors at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
Heathens were the only winning team that earned a bonus point during matchday six of the Nile Special Stout Rugby Premier League.
The bonus point was in the bag by the half-hour mark courtesy of tries from Arthur Mukama, Innocent Gwokto and Jordan Bongomin. Mukama and Gwokto completed their brace of tries before half time as the hosts led 29-00.
Second half was more closely contested as Heathens were only able to breach their visitors’ defense twice. This was early after the break through Claude Otema and in the last minute of the game through Trevor Ochan.
Warriors’ kickers Richard Kinyai and Owen Kinyera were off the mark with their attempts from the tee which kept the team scoreless in both halves.
Heathens thus inched to within a point from second-placed Black Pirates as the three-horse race for the title intensifies.
