Express FC must beat hosts Soltilo Bright Stars if they are to keep their hopes of winning the league for the first time since 2012.

The Red Eagles visit the Stars on Tuesday in third place, five points adrift of joint leaders Vipers and URA and are aware that nothing short of three points could derail their title ambitions.

Despite a decent first round, the Red Eagles have slipped in the last couple of games after failing to beat both Villa (0-0) and Mbarara City (1-1).

They face a big task against a side that has won all three games since resumption of the campaign.

Good news for Wasswa Bbosa is the return of experienced centre back Murushid Jjuuko from a two match suspension but the side are to miss Godfrey Lwesibawa (accumulated bookings), Abel Eturude, George Senkaaba and Arthur Kiggundu through injury.

In Senkaaba’s absence, the main man remains Eric Kambale in attack but he must be at his lethal best to beat the Soltilo Bright Stars’ backline commanded by Andrew Kyambadde.

At the back, Jjuuko and company must dig deeper to stop Samuel Ssekamatte, Joseph Akwandanaho and Joseph Janjali who are currently in fine form.

The two sides have met 13 times in the league with Express edging the contest with five wins against Bright Stars’ one while the rest have been stalemates.

Express won the reverse fixture 2-1 through early goals from Frank Kalanda and Kambale with Augustine Kacancu scoring for the Stars at Wankulukuku.

However, the six time league champions have never completed a double over their day’s opponents.
