FUFA Women Super League
Group 1 | Matchday 2
- Uganda Martyrs High School vs Kawempe Muslim Ladies – 9am
- Tooro Queens vs Makerere University (SHE MAK) – Midday
Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs will face off on Tuesday in a clash anticipated to be closely contested.
The two teams made a perfect start to the 2021 FUFA Women Super League winning their respective opening games on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Uganda Martyrs in the first game nicked a hard fought win over Makere University thanks to Kevin Nakacwa’s second half penalty while Kawempe Muslim on the other hand dispatched hapless Kampala Queens with a comfortable 4-0 win.
Ahead of the showdown on Tuesday, the two sides will be seeking to extend their perfect start in Group 1 that has five teams including new comers Tooro Queens FC.
Rogers Nkugwa the coach of Uganda Martyrs believes facing Kawempe Muslim is a tough task but remains confident that his players can get victory.
“They are a household name and won their first game with a big margin. But I’m confident that my players will go all out to fight for three points.”
His counterpart Moses Nkata is confident that the result from the first game gives them momentum and confidence ahead of the Tuesday’s clash.
Kawempe Muslim will be without striker Juliet Nalukenge who featured in the win against Kampala Queens but immediately returned to school because she will be sitting for examinations (S.6) on Tuesday morning.
The lethal forward netted a brace against Uganda Martyrs when the two side faced off last season.
The Warriors however, welcome back defender cum midfielder Stella Musubuka who missed the first game because she was also sitting for exams.
The other game to be played on Tuesday will see new comers Tooro Queens taking on Makerere University.
