- FUFA Women Super League | Matchday Two
- Uganda Martyrs High School 1-0 Kawempe Muslim Ladies
Uganda Martyrs High School maintained their perfect start at the 2021 FUFA Women Super League with a hard fought win over Kawempe Muslim on Tuesday.
The Lubaga based outfit won and ensured they registered their second win in as many games with a 1-0 win over the record Champions. They had also won with the same score line in the first game against Makerere University.
Both teams made changes in the teams that had started on matchday one. Uganda Martyrs benched Latifa Nakasi and Shamusa Najjuma for Immaculate Nakanjako and Brenda Munyana while Kawempe on the other hand replaced Stella Nankwanga with Stella Musubika.
Captain Gloria Namugerwa was the heroine for Uganda Martyrs High School with her goal in the 23rd minute being the decisive moment of the game.
The defender struck home from a free kick when Spencer Nakacwa was fouled outside the area by Asia Nakibuuka.
Catherine Nagadya and Anita Namata had chances to double the lead but failed to find the target when they went through on goal.
Kawempe o the other hand were a shadow of themselves and lacked coordination with the frontline looking blunt.
Margaret Kunihira and Sharon Nadunga failed to offer support to Juliet Nalukenge while the midfield trio of Hadijja Nandago, Shakira Nyingahirwa and Rhoda Nanziri lacked control and command.
The two teams will return to action on Wednesday with Kawempe Muslim taking on Tooro Queens while Uganda Martyrs will face Kampala Queens.
