2020-21 Uganda Premier League (Matchday 19)

  • Vipers 0-0 Wakiso Giants
  • Police 4-1 Kitara
  • Onduparaka 2-3 MYDA
  • BUL 4-3 UPDF
  • Kyetume 1-0 Busoga United
  • Soltilo Bright Stars 2-1 Express

Wakiso Giants staged a gallant and solid display in the non-scoring draw on the road against the reigning league champions Vipers at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

This end-to-end affair failed to produce a clear-cut winner as both sides fired blanks in the physical contest.

Yunus Sentamu, Cesar Manzoki, Karim Watambala, and second-half substitute Paul Mucureezi had had different chances to score but missed on various occasions.

The quartet came close to scoring but the backline of the visitors marshalled by Fahad Kawooya, George Kaddu, Simon Namwanja, Geriga Atendere, and goalkeeper Derrick Emukule remained water-tight.

Wakiso Giants’ golden opportunity fell to Rahmat Ssenfuka but he blasted the ball over after flooring Paul Willa inside the goal area.

The match had a nervy ending when Wakiso Giants’ goalkeeping coach Swaibu Ssebagala was sent off for protesting referees’ decisions.

The Wakiso Giants trio of George Kaddu, Derrick Emukule, and Frank Ssebuufu were all cautioned.

Wakiso Giants midfielder Joshua Lubwama was named the pilsner man of the match.

We take the result from this match with mixed feelings. We could have easily won the game but missed the opportunity. We are happy and sad for the point earned.
