Tooro Queens 0- 2 Kawempe Muslim Ladies

Kawempe Muslim returned to winning ways on Wednesday as they defeated new comers Tooro Queens on Wednesday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The Warriors came into this game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Uganda Martyrs and needed maximum points to boost their chances of advancing out of the group.

Allen Nassazi and substitute Sharon Nadunga scored the vital goals for Kawempe to secure a 2-0 against Tooro Queens who ended the game with a player less.

Midfielder Resty Kobusobozi was sent off, 12 minutes to the end of the game after picking a second bookable offence after a foul on Shakira Nyinagahirwa.

Kawempe took the lead in the 18th minute when Nassazi lashed ran through the channel to slot the ball past long ball past onrushing goalkeeper Gloria Namakula.

Four minutes later, Kawempe had the chance to double the lead but Margaret Kunihira who had been fouled in the area failed to convert from the spot.

Kawempe kept surging forward, creating several chances but failed to stretch their lead.

In the second stanza, Tooro Queens looked an improved side with the introduction of Ruth Nyakato’

They got chances to level matters but couldn’t find the target as the game went by.

Deep into stoppage time, substitute Nadunga who had replaced Nassazi sealed victory for Kawempe Muslim with a powerful head.

Victory means Kawempe Muslim move to six points in three games and will play Makerere University in their final group game on Friday.
