FUFA Women Super League

Kawempe Muslim 1-0 Makerere University

Tooro Queens 1-2 Kampala Queens

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC clearly have one foot into the FUFA Women Super League playoffs after overcoming hard fighting Makerere University on Friday.

Under the grueling sunshine at the FUFA Technical Centre, Allen Nassazi stood tall to score the lone goal of the game.

Nassazi tucked home in the 19th minute after running behind the Makerere University back line to fire home into the bottom left corner.

Both teams missed key players with Kawempe Muslim having no Juliet Nalukenge, Asia Nakibuuka and Stella Musubika.

On the other hand, Makerere missed first choice goalkeeper Zahara Nankya who injured her index finger in the loss to Tooro Queens.

Midway through the game, the University side also lost defender Stella Namisango through injury and her place was taken by Carol Anyango.

Like it has been the case in all the games Makerere University has played, they favourably competed but failed to find options in the final third.

At 9 points, Kawempe Muslim lead group 1 and wait for results from tomorrow’s fixtures. Both Kampala Queens and Uganda Martyrs who are level on six points have a chance to go through.

Kampala Queens play Makerere University while Uganda Martyrs will take on Tooro Queens.
