The first round of the Northern Region Women’s 10s Rugby championship will kick off this Saturday in Kitgum district.
This comes a week after the Eastern and Central Regions who held their opening rounds on the weekend of April 17-18 in Mbale and Entebbe respectively.
Kitgum Queens will host three other teams during this event at the Kitgum Boma Grounds.
- Northern Region teams: Kitgum Queens, Gulu Sprinters, Aduku Tigers, Lira Matrix.
These are the same teams that played in last year’s championship, which was played in the same 10s variation of rugby unlike other regions.
Like it was last year, each of the teams will face the opponents once in a round-robin format and the winner at the end of the three rounds will qualify for the national finals tournament.

- 11 a.m.: Kitgum Queens vs Gulu Sprinters
- 11.30 a.m.: Aduku Tigers vs Lira Matrix
- 12 noon: Kitgum Queens vs Lira Matrix
- 12.30 p.m.: Aduku Tigers vs Gulu Sprinters
- 1 p.m.: Kitgum Queens vs Aduku Tigers
- 1.30 p.m.: Gulu Sprinters vs Lira Matrix
