FUFA Women Super League
- Lady Doves 5-0 Isra Soccer Academy
- She Corporate 1-0 Olila High School
Forward Fazila Ikwaput stole the show as Lady Doves dispatched hapless new comers Isra Soccer Academy on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
The lethal forward was in scintillating form scoring four of the five goals to help Lady Doves take an early lead in group 2 of the FUFA Women Super League.
The other goal, which was the opener was scored by midfielder Lydia Nyandera in the 23rd minute.
Before the breakthrough came, Lady Doves had already shown dominance and took control of proceedings especially in the middle of the park.
Ikwaput troubled Isra’s backline, beating defenders for pace and was denied by the woodwork twice.
The deadlock was broken in the 23rd minute when Nyandera capitalised on goalkeeper Brenda Kasana’s mistake. She spilled the ball in an effort to save, only to land in the midfielder’s path.
Ten minutes before the break, Ikwaput finally got onto the score sheet thanks to a neat pass from Joweria Nagadya as Lady Doves stretched their lead.
The Masindi based side were even more hungry for goals in the second half and four minutes upon restart, Ikwaput scored direct from a free kick.
She later added two goals to complete a double brace on the day and take lead in the top scorers’ chart. Fauzia Najjemba and Allen Nassazi of Kampala Queens and Kawempe Muslim finished group 1 with three goals apiece.
Lady Doves will return to action on Tuesday against Olila High School WFC who lost 1-0 to She Corporate. Isra Soccer Academy on the other hand will not in action on Tuesday
