FUFA Women Super League
- UCU Lady Cardinals 3-0 Isra Soccer Academy
The final result perhaps doesn’t tell what exactly happened as UCU Lady Cardinals defeated Isra Soccer Academy on Friday.
UCU Lady Cardinals struggled to overcome a composed and resilient Isra outfit who were an improved side from the previous games.
The League new comers put up a good display especially in the first half and frustrated UCU Lady Cardinals for the larger part of the game.
Not even the change in approach from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 gave UCU Lady Cardinals an upper hand. Their opponents were really up to it and gave them a run for their money.
Coach Jimmy Kintu even made changes from the team that lost to Lady Doves with Annet Nakirijja and Jackie Nakasi starting ahead of Harriet Muwugumya and Jauharah Nabaggala respectively.
UCU finally got the breakthrough in the 79th minute when Flavia Nalwanga made a poor clearance only to gift Hasifa Nassuna who made no mistake to slot home.
Three minutes later, Teddy Najjuma rose highest to head home at the far post before Nassuna put the game to bed with a stoppage time goal.
The result takes UCU Lady Cardinals to 2nd place on 6 points and will play Olila High School on Saturday in their final group game.
Isra Soccer Academy on the other hand will end the group games against She Corporate.
