FUFA Women Super League
- Lady Doves 0-0 She Corporate
Two words can perfectly describe She Corporate’s performance on Friday against Lady Doves and that is; wastefulness and unlucky.
In a game where She Corporate dominated every aspect of the game, the lack of efficiency eventually came to haunt them. Favour Nambatya, Janat Thungu, Winnie Nabbale and Noeline Namiro had clear cut chances.
They were also unlucky on the day with two of their attempts at goal, hitting the upright with goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro totally beaten.
Susan Atim’s cross from the right wing ricocheted off the crossbar while Nabbumba saw her well taken free kick also hit the upright.
However, Nakaziro too deserves credit for a brilliant display and on several occasions kept the Masindi based outfit in the game.
She Corporate knew exactly where Lady Doves would hurt them and limited Riticia Nabbosa from supplying Fazila Ikwaput who was quiet on the day.
With Cissy Nantogo denying Nabbosa operating space, Lady Doves failed to find options upfront and clearly struggled to march their opponents.
They however, defended resiliently to secure a point and thus progress to the Championship playoffs with eight points in four games.
Its only UCU Lady Cardinals and She Corporate who now have a chance to fight for the remain slot in group 2.
She Corporate have 4 points and will play minnows Isra Soccer Academy who have lost each game and conceded 11 goals therein.
UCU Lady Cardinals on the other hand will play Olila High School on Saturday. The latter were docked points for using an ineligible player.
The player in question in Sheilah Galenda who got booked against She Corporate and Lady Doves. According to the Competition rules, a player must miss the next game if she is booked in the previous two successive games.
