Stanbic Uganda Cup 2021 (Round of 16):

First Leg: Saturday, 1st May – Onduparaka Vs SC Villa (4 PM)

Onduparaka Football Club hosts Sports Club Villain the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 stage at the Aba Bet Green Light Stadium in Arua city on Saturday, 1st May 2021.

This will be one of the three matches lined up on this day. Express hosts URA at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium and army side UPDF entertains Vipers at Bombo in the other game.

Coming to the game in Arua city, both the Catarpillars and Jogoos will seek for early advantage ahead of the return leg next week.

Onduparaka lost in their previous game (in league) away to Express 2-0 at Wankulukuku, succumbing to two late goals from Eric Kenzo Kambale.

SC Villa on the other hand needed a late-late winner from Muhammed Nsereko to earn a point at home against visiting BUL at Bombo.

Under Joseph Harold Mutyaba, at home, Onduparaka will play their hearts out for a positive result.

Living Kabon, Joel Jangeyambe, Noel Nasasira, Mahdi Ajobe, Moses Okot, Gabriel Matata among others are some of the players that the home side will dwell upon.

Onduparaka will pray that goalkeeper Michael Kagiri who limped out from the Expres game passes a late fitness test otherwise Tonny Kyamera could be used.

SC Villa’s goalkeeping duo of Saidi Keni and Meddie Kibirige, Fred Agandu, Garvin Kizito Mugweri, Derrick Ndahiiro, Geofrey Wasswa, Emmanuel Wasswa Alex, Nicholas Kabonge, Amir Kakomo, Salim Abdallah, Muhammed Nsereko, Isaac Ogwang and others some of the Jogoo players who made the West Nile trip.

Ronald Ssekiganda, Moses Kiggundu,Benson Muhindo and left back Andrew Kiwanuka did not travel because of different ailments.

Jogoos’ head coach Edward Kaziba, his assistant Ibrahim Kirya and the rest of the backroom staff have to plot for the match and definitely strategize on how to pick decent results on the road.

The return leg will be played on Tuesday, 4th May 2021 at the Military Barracks Stadium in Bombo.

SC Villa has won the Uganda Cup 9 times whilst Onduparaka has never won this trophy, but played in the 2016 final before losing to Vipers 3-1 at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium.

Headline sponsors Stanbic Bank were joined by paint gurus Kansai Plascon as the other partners.
