MYDA striker Ahmed Hussein Saleh

Woes at Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) Football Club remain the order of the day by each passing day.

With the dust arising out of the sacking of their former head coach Abdul Samadu Musafiri yet to settle, the Malaba based club has suffered yet another set back after one of their lead marksman Ahmed Hussein Saleh has left the club by mutual consent.

Saleh terminated his employment contract with the league newcomers citing personal issues and has since left for Tanzania.

“Ahmed Hussein Saleh terminated the employment contract at MYDA Football Club and returned to Tanzania where he expects to play football at the time being” the player’s representative disclosed to Kawowo Sports.

Saleh announced his arrival to the Uganda Premier League scene with a well taken brace against Wakiso Giants during the 2-all draw at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

He then scored against Proline during both legs of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 as MYDA was eliminated out of the knock out tourney.

A couple of weeks ago, the gangly forward relocated to Tanzania where the family stays and expects to sign for a top premier side in the country.

For starters, Saleh trained at West Ham United academy side as a teen before the family traveled to Africa.

MYDA finds themselves in a difficult corner to negotiate with 9 matches left in the final bend.

Out of the 21 games played, MYDA has managed only 2 wins, 3 draws and 16 losses which leaves them with just 9 points, second from bottom of the 16 team log.

There a ray of hope for MYDA to survive relegation only if they perform well in the remaining 9 matches against Kyetume (home), UPDF (away), Busoga United (home), Kitara (away), Wakiso Giants (home), BUL (home), Express (away), KCCA (home) and away to URA at the Arena of Visions in the final match of the season.
