UCU Lady Cardinals Vs Uganda Martyrs High School – 12PM
UCU Lady Cardinals and Uganda Martyrs High School, Lubaga will set their sight at reaching the final of this year’s FUFA Women Super League and eventually clinch the title.
The two teams face off on Monday in the semi-finals and the winner will secure a slot into the final slated for Wednesday this week.
Uganda Martyrs have been to this stage before and will hope they go an extra mile to go all the way. The Lubaga based outfit played in the playoffs in their debut season (2016/17).
Coincidentally, they played against UCU Lady Cardinals and the latter won the contest 2-1 to progress to the final where they lost to Kawempe Muslim.
Kenyan forwards Moureen Kinavudori and Millicent Mwanzi scored for the University side while Resty Nanziri got the consolation for Uganda Martyrs.
Uganda Martyrs have the belief going into Monday’s clash that they up to the task and ready to take on the 2019 Winners.
Assistant Coach, Freda Ayerango is confident that the week they have had to prepare is helped them iron out the mistakes committed during group games.

“We have had time to try and rectify our mistakes and work on areas where we seemed lacking, especially going forward.” She said.
The Captain, Gloria Namugerwa is oozing with confidence and indicated their target is to for the grand prize.

“We are ready and prepared to face UCU Lady Cardinals. The time we have had has helped us rest, get ample time to work on several things and we are in good shape.”
On the other hand, UCU Lady Cardinals Assistant coach, Simon Asiimwe believes they are still on the right course of attaining their target and he is optimistic they will get a good result on Monday.

“The team is in good shape and we have had the boost of some of the players that had picked injuries are back and that gives us the belief and hope that our target will be realised. “
Hasifa Nassuna who is the current captain at UCU Lady Cardinals will be looked at the main source of inspiration for her team.
The forward has so far scored three goals at the tournament and she hopes to help the team where it matters most.

“We are ready and confident ahead of our game on Monday. We are aware of the abilities of our opponents and it will be a tough contest but I hope Allah can see us through.” She said.
The other game on Monday will see Record Champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies taking on Lady Doves.
