After nearly a year of relentless training, Kelvin Balagadde has finally made the cut for the Uganda Men’s Sevens. Balagadde has been named by head coach Tolbert Onyango alongside fourteen others for the Rugby Africa Solidarity Camp.

The team that featured at the Emirates Invitational 7s in Dubai, UAE has thus been joined by Balagadde, James Odongo, Timothy Kisiga and Byron Oketayot. Pius Ogena has been dropped from the squad for this camp with a shoulder injury.

James Odongo, Adrian Kasito, Kelvin Balagadde, Levis Ocen, Solomon Okia, Michael Wokorach, Aaron Ofoywroth, Joseph Aredo, Desire Ayera, Philip Wokorach, Timothy Kisiga, Ian Munyani, Isaac Massanganzira, Nobert Okeny, Byron Oketayot.

The one-week high-performance training camp geared towards helping teams in their preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Four nations; South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Uganda are going to take part.

The travelling squad is expected to jet out of the country on Thursday, May 6 for this camp and will return ten days later on May 16.

Ernest Akorebirungi is an amateur rugby player and a keen follower of local Ugandan rugby.
