Uganda Premier League Champions, Express FC have on Friday confirmed the departure of striker Frank ‘Machette’ Kalanda.

The Red Eagles in a statement published on the club website confirmed the gangly forward after his contract ran out at the end of last month.

“Express FC has parted ways with forward Frank Kalanda “Machete” after two seasons at the club.” Reads the statement.

“Kalanda’s contract expired at the end of June 2021 and the club opted not to renew it.”

Whereas Kalanda was a key player for Express FC during the 2019/20 season where he scored 13 league goals, he fell out of favor last season and was relegated to the bench.

Eric Kambale and George Ssenkaaba were the preferred options for coach Wasswa Bbosa.
