Uganda’s pacy midfielder Abdul Noor Lukwata scored a hat-trick as Heagan Football Club humiliated relegated Geeska Africa in the Somalia Premier League on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

The former Simba (UPDF), Onduparaka and African Lyon (Tanzania) play maker has since dedicated his achievement to the Balangira clan, a lineage from which he hails from.

I dedicate the hat-trick I scored for Heegan to all my family members in the Balangira clan. I remember when I was only 16 years of age, they gave me the opportunity to play in the Bika Bya Baganda football tournament. This exposed me and that is how I managed to get recruited to play for Simba Football Club (now UPDF) in the Uganda Premier League.

The three goals for the Ugandan had also come days after a stunning shot into the roof of the net during Heegan’s 2-1 win against Elman.

The headlines however belonged to Qaadir Benteke who scored seven times in the one sided duel played in Mogadishu city.

Najib Benteke (brace) and Cabdifitaax Kante were the other scorers on the red letter day.

As early as the 9th minute, Qaadir opened the scoring off Lukwata’s assist.

Najib doubled the scores two minutes later, thanks to the donkey work of Cabdiyow Maara before Maara assisted Qaadir’s second on the quarter hour mark.

Najiib returned to the score sheet once again in the 17th minute with Cabdifitaax Kante providing the assist.

By the 25th minute mark, Qaadir had a hat-trick with a well struck penalty.

Lukwata’s first of the three goals arrived in the 38th minute with Kante assisting before Qaadir provided for Lukwata a minute later.

Heegan led 7-0 by the mandatory half time break.

It was a goal galore business once again moments as the second stanza kicked off.

Maara set up Qaadir for his fifth goal on the evening three minutes after the half way mark.

Qaadir then laid for Kante in the 56th minute and once again for Lukwata in the 65th minute as the pint sized Ugandan grabbed a hat-trick.

With 18 minutes to play, Qaadir scored his personal 5th goal off Alii Mohamed’s assist and netted the 6th off Meyman’s assist.

Qaadir sealed the coffin for Geeska Afrika with a penalty on the stroke of full time.

Heegan completed the 2020-21 season in third place with 33 points off 18 matches.

Army side Horseed leads the 10 team log with 35 points, on goal difference (25) compared to Mogadishu City Council (MCC)’s 13 goals with a one to play.

Geeska Afrika was confirmed as the first of the two relegated clubs.

Either of Elman or Jeenyo (both have 17 points with one match to play) could be relegated on the final day of the season.
