Uganda U-23 national team (The Kobs) recorded their first victory at the ongoing CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup with a slim 1-0 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at Bahir Dar International Stadium on Monday, 26th July 2021.
Vipers’ Najib Yiga scored the priceless goal on the stroke of half-time.

This was the first victory for Morley Byekwaso’s coached side following the goalless draw with DR Congo and the one-all draw with Tanzania.
Uganda will now face Eritrea in the second classification match to determine the 5th or 6th placed countries at this championship.
Hosts Ethiopia who lost to rivals Eritrea 4-3 in a post penalty shoot-out (normal time ended 1-1) will play Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for the 6th or 7th placed.
