Soltilo Bright Stars play-maker Methodious Jungu has boldly attested that the opportunity to skipper the club will forever remain his biggest feat at the club.

Jungu is one of the leaders at the club alongside the vastly experienced Sula Ssebunza Ssekagya, goalkeeper Benson Wagima and Joseph Janjali.

During the previous season, he captained the club in as many as 12 games, of which 10 were won, an achievement that he proudly rates.

Below is the one on one interview with the former FUFA Juniors League champion (Vipers Junior Team skipper) who also captained the St Mary’s Boarding Senior school to the Copa Coca Cola championship as well as the East African schools football victory.

Question: How would you rate the 2020 – 2021 season?

Jungu: Last season was not good at the start. The club had to bring in new players and new coach (Baker Mbowa). As a player, I got a problem to copy up with the new systems the coach introduced for a few months. It became difficult to understand each other among players because we were new to each other thus losing many matches in the first round of the league.

Question: How did you copy up with the new coach and his demands?

Jungu: What I liked about the season, the new coach gave me time from the training ground he used to direct me on what to do and how I can do it which was different from the past seasons. After a long time of first round without me playing any game, the coach still had trust in me and brought me on his starting team in second round and I played game in game out.

Question: What did you the season teach you?

Jungu: This season showed me that I would have played much more better if the coaches in the past seasons

Question: How special was the team bond at Soltilo Bright Stars in the previous season?

Jungu: The love that we shared together between players and coaches was the best have ever seen. Wishing for each other also gave me hope because as a captain I had to bring all players as one in that I talked with each player about different things.

Question: You were one of the captains at the club. What special feeling and responsibilities did you have?

Jungu: Captaincy gave me the responsibility and I got to believe more and more in myself because all the players and the coaches had hope in me. I got the treasured playing time and I played my style. This also made last season to be a good season to me. I led the team as a captain and won 10games. Perhaps, this was the best achievement of my season.
