Uganda U-20 and Sports Club Villa creative gem Isma Mugulusi underwent a successful knee operation in Greece where he will take four to six weeks’ recovery.

The operation was executed by a team of doctors led by Loannis Rallis and Andreas at the Biokaivikn oeo vikns omivoe bioiatpikh hospital in Thessaloniki city, one-hour flight from the capital city Athens.

It took the joint efforts of Sepuya Inc Agency, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Sports Club Villa, Poak Football Club (Greece), Greek Government, Embassy of France in Uganda, coaches, footballers, friends and many well-wishers to have this operation done.

“I am humbled for everyone who did everything in their means to have my operation done well. May Allah bless you all. I hope for a good recovery process and soon, I am sure, I will be back on the field of play” Mugulusi revealed on phone from his hospital bed in Thessaloniki city.

Sepuya, a former Uganda Cranes international is the manager of Mugulusi through his agency, Sepuya Inc Agency.

He lauds FUFA, Sports Club Villa, the team of doctors, Greek Government, France Embassy, Busoga United, Poak Football Club, footballers, coaches and everybody who did everything.

In the same vein, Sepuya has heaped praise on personalities who assisted in any way.

Footballers Moses Oloya, Kenneth Ssemakula, Azizi Kayondo, Travis Mutyaba, Muhammed Shaban, Richard Basangwa, Oscar Mawa, Viane Ssekajugo, two South Sudan internationals Peter Maker Manyanga and Rehan Agnier, Tendo Musoke as well as SC Villa head coach Petros Koukouras, among others also made tremendous contributions.

Mugulusi is expected to be back in action much earlier than anticipated, with four to six weeks following a very successful operation of the knee where the meniscus and ligament was put right.

A silver medalist at the AFCON 2021 finals, Mugulusi has had a troublesome knee that limited his game time while at Busoga United before he transfered to his current side Sports Club Villa where he is yet to play any minutes this 2021-2022 season.
