Left winger Charles Ssempa has transferred to Western Uganda based Uganda Premier League entity Mbarara City Football Club.

Burly-albeit-intelligent, Ssempa joins the Ankole Lions on a short term deal until the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Ssempa is a left footed winger who can also be deployed behind the main forwards.

He has been a free agent since he was deemed surplus to requirements at Jinja based BUL Football Club in August 2021.

The midfielder becomes the first transfer for head coach Sadiq Sempigi during the mid-season transfer window.

Ssempa arrives at BUL with a barrage of experience in his legs and brain having previously played at Entebbe, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and lately BUL.

He boosts the offensive department at Ankole Lions that also has Solomon Okwalinga, Raymond Derrick Onyai, Thomas Kakaire, Henry Kitegenyi, Makuweth Wol Akeen and Jude Ssemugabi among others.

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, Mbarara City visit Six O’Clock in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 at the Kazinda playground in Bushenyi in a game Ssempa expects to make his debut at the club.
