URU Women’s 15s League | Saturday, 5th February
- Mbale Eagels vs. Entebbe Avengers – 2:00pm, Busamaga – Mbale
- Black Pearls vs. Thunderbirds – 12:00noon, Kyadondo
Black Pearls coach Hellen Buteme believes her side has made strides in conditioning and rugby skills ahead of the clash with Thunderbirds.
The two sides face off at Kydondo Rugby Ground on Saturday in Matchday of the URU Women 15s League.
“I happen to have pretty small players, I don’t have players with a lot of bulk and size and that has always been our challenge in 15s,” Buteme told Nnalubaale Sports.
“I have worked a lot on the conditioning of the players. They are still small but a lot stronger and they will be able to hold the 80 minutes.
“I have adopted a game plan that will use our strength which is peed, very good rugby skills, and quick thinking. We have worked a lot on ball retention and I hope we will be able to execute our game plan.”
Black Pearls top the standings thanks to a bonus-point win over Mbale Eagles in the season opener. Thunderbirds are a point behind having picked a walkover against Avengers.
“People should come down and watch because it’s definitely going to be very entertaining rugby and you won’t get disappointed,” she added.
