• FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers | Fourth Round
  • Ghana 5-0 Uganda (Agg: 7-1)

Ghana U20 Women’s National Team dispatched their counterparts of Uganda to secure a berth into the final qualifying stage to the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The Black Princesses put up a dominant display to register a 5-0 win on Saturday at Cape Coast Stadium and thus advance to the next round.

Goals from  Evelyn Badu, Abdulai Salamatu, Rahama Dafa (brace), and Doris Baduwa ensured Ghana won the one-sided contest.

Despite missing captain Evelyn Badu in the first leg, Ghana were able to secure a 2-1 in the first leg and give themselves a shot in the hand ahead of the return leg.

Her return to the team was indeed inspirational with the midfielder opening the scores in the 23rd minute after capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Uganda.

This seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game and indeed the home side went on a rampage.

The result means the end of the road for Uganda while Ghana will face Ethiopia in the last qualification phase.

Two teams will represent Africa at the World Cup that will take place in Costa Rica in August this year.
