Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals will go into matchday two of the FUFA Women Super League seeking to make it two wins in as many games.

The Mukono based outfit began the new season on a perfect note, securing a hard fought 1-0 win away in Soroti against Olila High School thanks to Hasifa Nassuna’s solitary strike.

With a home fixture this Saturday against new comers She Maroons, the 2019 Champions will have their sights set at building early pace in the title run.

However, against She Maroons, they face a tricky opponent and the game poses to be a potential banana skin.

The Prison Sentries have proved a hard nut to crack right from their time in the lower division (FUFA Women Elite League) and also picked a point off defending Champions Lady Doves FC on matchday one.

Under the stewardship of coach Alex Sida, the Luzira side will be hoping to cause another upset on their visit to Luzira.

The two teams faced off in a friendly prior to the start of the season and She Maroons were able to earn a 1-0 win. This coupled with the return of skipper Sarah Nalwanga and winger Winnie Babirye could be a big boost for the Prison Queens.

In Masindi, defending Champions Lady Doves will hope to better their results from matchday one where they were held to a goalless draw by Lady Doves.

The Believers have lost several key players but with last season’s top scorer and MVP Fazila Ikwaput, they will hope to secure all three points against Uganda Martyrs on Saturday.

Uganda Martyrs themselves are seeking to make quick amends following their loss to She Corporate in the opening weekend.

With the return of Kevin Nakacwa, Catherine Nagadya and Esther Naluyimba, Rogers Nkugwa believes he has a good team at his disposal.

Elizabeth Nakigozi and Halima Kanyago will be under the spotlight as they face Lady Doves , a team they featured for last season.

On Sunday, Kawempe Muslim travel to Nakawa to face She Corporate. Both teams were winners on matchday one with an identical score of 2-0.

Wounded Kampala Queens make the long trip to Fort Portal City to take on Tooro Queens with the target of bouncing back from that loss against Kawempe Muslim.

In the other game to be played on Sunday, Olila High School who lost the first game against UCU Lady Cardinals host Rines SS WFC.

The return of defenders Grace Aluka and Bira Nadunga into the squad is definitely great news for the Pande Cifu coached side.

The duo missed the opening fixture lat weekend due to engagements with the Uganda U20 Women’s National Team that played against Ghana.

Rines on the other hand were held at home by Tooro Queens FC but travel to Soroti targeting maximum points and the return of midfielder Eva Nagayi is also good news for coach Bright Nyanzi.
