Police ended a four match winless streak with a deserved 4-2 win over visiting Tooro United at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Juma Balinya, Tonny Mawejje, Marvin Oshaba and Herman Wasswa scored for Abdallah Mubiru’s side while Ronald Magwali and Hussein Mwanje netted Tooro United’s consolations.

Balinya put the Cops in the lead inside nine minutes with a beautiful goal after he received a weighted cross from Ruben Kimera, with back facing goal, he controlled with his left and swiftly turned and shot with his right.

Magwali then levelled matters in the 28th minute capitalizing on careless goalkeeping by Tom Ikara who failed to tame a header from Abdul Noor Lukwata.

Mawejje restored the hosts’ lead in the 40th minute heading home Kimera free kick and Oshaba punished his former bosses with another header in the last minute of halftime.

Mwanje cut the deficit with a penalty at the hour mark and substitute Wasswa buried any hopes of Tooro United snatching a point beating two markers in the area before send a low shot past Kenneth Lukyamuzi in the visitors’ goal.

Police now improve their points tally to 21 points in 10th position while Tooro United remain at the base of the table with nine points.

Police’s next game is a trip to Jinja to face Busoga United on March 11 while Tooro United will host Vipers on the same day.
