Burundian champions Urunani put on a dominant display in their opening game of the Elite 16, beating KPA, 72-43, on Tuesday.

Led by Landry Ndikumana, Urunani were in control right from tip-off to the final buzzer and never gave KPA a chance to breathe.

The Burundians took the opening quarter 18-5 as KPA struggled to get anything going on the offensive and the tone was set for the rest of the game.

The game was all but done by halftime as Urunani led 36-13 and despite KPA playing a little better in the second half, they could only settle for a 29-point loss.

Ndikuma scored game-high 18 points and picked 14 rebounds, Adonis Filer added 13 points while Baru Adjehi contributed 12 points and as many rebounds.

George Williams (13 points) was the only KPA player who scored in double figures.
