Goalkeeper Ali Ramathan Mwirusi is currently licensed at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club, a member of the first team after graduation from the KCCA Soccer Academy. Defender Simon Baligeya is currently employed by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Two Ugandan footballers; goalkeeper Ali Ramathan Mwirusi and defender Simon Baligeya have been invited for trials at Spanish entity, Villajoyosa Club de Futbol.

Based in Vila Joiosa town, Valencia city, Villajoyosa Sports Club is a fifth division side founded in 1942 (hosting their home games at the 4000 seater Nou Pla), Vila Joiosa).

The club extended the invitation to these two players via Festoweb Sports Management.

Mwirusi is currently licensed at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club, a member of the first team after graduation from the KCCA Soccer Academy.

He had earlier traveled to France in 2022 and held trials at FC Vaulz En-Velin.

Defender Baligeya is currently employed by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Mwirusi and Baligeya studied at football powerhouse, Kibuli Secondary School.

For starters, both players were part of the football show case exhibition for Team Fundi in Spain last season.

After the showcase, a number of clubs from Spain, Scotland, Portugal and France picked interest in 14 players who included Eric Ssenjobe, Rashid Mukungu, Raymond Derrick Onyai, Nicholas Kabonge, Alfred Onek, Ivan Junior Ocholit, Andrew Okiring Isiagi, Simon Balageya, Ivan Irinimbabazi, Hakim Kiwanuka, Enock Walusimbi, Sadat Happy Anaku as well as goalkeepers Derrick Emukule and Ali Ramathan Mwirusi.

Former KCCA forward Sadat Happy Anaku earned a contract with Scottish side Dundee United.

Defender Enock Walusimbi who was a former captain at Express Club was signed by Peterhead Football Club, still in Scotland.

Lately, three players; Ivan Irinimbabazi, Hakim Kiwanuka and Alex Yiga traveled to Scotland for trials with different clubs.

Irinimbabazi, currently at Soltilo Bright Stars will have trials at Dundee United Football Club, the current home for Anaku.

Kiwanuka (a midfielder at Proline Football Club) will be played at St Mirren whilst youngster Yiga (KCCA Soccer Academy) shall conduct his trials with giants Rangers in Glasgow city.

The three players were accompanied by intermediary Herbert Ella Angura.
